This Site is intended for Commercial use only.  Interference or entry to the Site with intent to corrupt, damage or deny service is taken seriously and we will take such action as is necessary to protect the Site from any such activities.

The content of the Site does not constitute an offer by us to sell products and services.  Your request to purchase a product or service represents an offer by you that we may accept or reject and will be subject to the terms and conditions of that product or service. 

The information and descriptions on the Site do not necessarily represent complete descriptions of all terms and conditions in relation to our products and services.  Specific details will be included in the schedule of cover, policy documents and/or conditions of purchase issued to you.

You must ensure that the details you give to us while using this Site are correct and that all questions are answered fully to ensure you receive the level of coverage you require.  You must also have sufficient funds to cover the cost of any product or service, which you intend to purchase.  Failure to provide us with all the relevant and accurate information may jeopardise a claim.

Whilst we take all reasonable steps to ensure the Site is always accessible we will not be held liable if, for any reason, the Site is unavailable for any period. We may also have to suspend access to the Site for routine or emergency updates and maintenance but we will endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum.

In addition we cannot warrant that the Site will be free of viruses or defects of any description and we will not be held responsible for any technical problems you may suffer as a result of your use of the Site.

Use of First Title Insurance plc Online Services

You will be asked to register a username and password if you wish to purchase or obtain a quote for our product(s) through our Online Services.  It is your responsibility to keep your username and password confidential, by: 

  • ensuring your Login details are kept secret;
  • not allowing others to use your Login details;
  • changing your Login password at regular intervals; and
  • contacting First Title immediately if you believe your Login is being used by another party.

First Title reserves the right to withdraw access to the Site without prior notice if we believe that there has been a breach or abuse of the system. 

By logging into our on line site you confirm that you are authorised by the Financial Services Authority or the Solicitors Regulatory Authority for the purchase of title insurance on behalf of your clients.

Complaints

We aim to provide you with a first class service.  However there may be times when you feel that we have not done so.  If this were the case, we would rather be told about it so that we can do our best to solve the problem.  If you have a complaint then please contact us at legal&claims@firsttitle.eu and we will make sure that  your complaint is considered immediately.

If there is a disagreement between us which we cannot resolve to your satisfaction you can refer any relevant complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) who, once contracted, will liaise with us on your behalf.  FOS will then inform you directly of its decision.  Referral to FOS will not prejudice your right to take subsequent legal proceedings.  Its address is South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR (Consumer Helpline Telephone: 0845 080 1800).

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

We are covered by the FSCS and you may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations.  This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit.
